Campsite Rules


Cancellation Policy

  • All bookings made or paid for within 21 days of your planned stay are non-refundable.
  • If you cancel your booking more than 21 days before your stay, we will endeavour to provide you with a refund of any payment already made.
  • To avoid disappointment, please source an appropriate travel insurance to cover any potential financial losses due to cancellation.


By entering the premises, all users are deemed to agree to be bound by these rules. All users are required to follow the directions of campsite staff. The management may refuse admission at any time. 


Arrival and Departure

  • Only those registered to use the site for overnight accommodation may use the camping facilities and campsite area.  
  • Arrival: Pitches are available from 2pm
  • Departure: Pitches should be vacated by 12 noon


Noise

  • Please be respectful of your fellow campers and local residents - there should be no noise after 10pm.


Hazards and Risks 

  • Use of the campsite and car park is at the user’s risk. There are hazards which have not been marked. Users are warned to take particular care to keep away from steep slopes and the platform edge. 
  • Users are responsible for loss or damage to their own property at all times, and the SCA will not accept any liability for users’ property whatsoever. 


Use and payment 

  • All users must book and pay online  for their pitch.
  • If a user has not booked or paid the full amount, the Management may ask the person(s) to leave immediately. 
  • To make use of the members’ discount, the booker must have a valid SCA, BC, CW or CANI membership at the point of booking and the entirety of their stay. Discount codes must be entered at the time of booking, they cannot be applied after payment.
  • You must be aged 18 or over to make an online booking for the Campsite. At least one member of the party, aged 18 or over, must be present on site whilst any other group members are on site. Adults in a group are responsible for the behaviour of all the members of the group.


Vehicles 

  • The speed limit 5 mph and vehicles are not permitted on the grass 
  • Only campervans and towing vehicles for caravans are permitted to park beyond the wooden gate in the designated campervan and caravan area


Safety 

  • Users are responsible for the safe condition and use of their own appliances - cookers, stoves, heaters etc. 
  • Bulk gas or other fuel storage is prohibited. 
  • Portable electricity generators are prohibited. 
  • Open fires are prohibited – no campfires or bonfires. 
  • BBQs are allowed only on non-flammable surfaces – not on the grass. 
  • Do not tamper with fire extinguishers or alarms – they are provided for emergency use only. 
  • All users should note the position of the Assembly Point, nearest Fire Point and read the Fire Action notice. 
  • Group Leaders are responsible for the whereabouts of their group, and for the group’s head-count in case an Assembly is called.

Pets 

  • Pets are permitted provided they do not cause nuisance. The Campsite Management’s decision on any pet is final. 
  • Pets must be kept on a lead at all times and must not be left unattended. 
  • Pet waste must be lifted and removed immediately. It should be placed in a general waste bin.


Waste and hygiene 

  • Pitches must be kept tidy and all refuse must be placed promptly in the recycling and rubbish containers provided at the campervan service point. Please make sure that you put the recycling and waste in the correct containers.
  • Caravan/Campervan Chemical toilet disposal - is located to the right hand side of the washing up area 
  • Campervan service point is available to those wishing to dispose of chemical and grey waste. Free of charge to those staying overnight, £8 to visitors.


Security 

  • Access codes must not be passed on to anyone. Every booking is supplied with the codes by email for use during their stay. We have a duty to know who is on site at any time. 
  • The gate must be kept closed and locked at all times. Do not leave the gate lock with the code showing.
  • CCTV is monitored and recorded. Details are in the CCTV Policy



Discipline 

  • Group Leaders are responsible for the orderly behaviour of their group members. 
  • The SCA reserves the right at any time to remove anyone whose behaviour is deemed to be unacceptable by the Campsite Management. The Campsite Management will report any incident to the Chief Executive, who may refer the matter to the SCA Board of Directors for further action. 


Further regulations or guidance

  • The Campsite Management may add additional terms and conditions to booking at any point. This will be shared during the time of the online booking and subsequent confirmation emails.
  • The Campsite Management reserves the right to close the Campsite at any point and will inform anyone with bookings accordingly. If the campsite is closed then all users of the site must vacate it.
